Our Commitment to Small Businesses
In 1979 NEWSED created a Neighborhood Business Revitalization Zone on Santa Fe Drive in the La Alma Lincoln Park Neighborhood. It was a designation handed down by HUD and it ushered in a new era of small business support and programming for the City of Denver and the West Denver community. It was a nationally recognized initiative. In those early years NEWSED’s entire existence was dedicated to retail/commercial development and small business support. While many things have changed over the years our commitment to small businesses has maintained.
NEWSED Small Business Programs
NEWSED Small Business Programs include a Start-Up Business Workshop with consultant Cheryl Lucero, a Business Basics Course (English/Spanish) and our retail incubator – The ZONE Marketplace. Complementary to these programs is our small business loan program.
