In 2013, NEWSED launched Denver’s first retail incubator – The ZONE Marketplace. The ZONE provides small business owners and entrepreneurs basic business training with individualized benchmarks, access to capital, an affordable storefront rental opportunity and many other customized resources.

ZONE Marketplace clients enjoy an affordable rent in a newly renovated storefront and connections to strategic partners.
The NEWSED Business Directory allows customers to search for businesses. NEWSED entrepreneurs interested in a Business Directory listing can receive coaching from a NEWSED Business Coach on how to tell their story and attract customers using online marketing strategies.
NEWSED participates in and hosts various special events to help our entrepreneurs grow their businesses, access new markets, learn new skills, and gain first-hand experience.

Incubation Program Success Story
Anita Cooper and her handmade purse and accessory business “Nita Louise” started at the ZONE Marketplace in 2017. Since then she has graduated from our eight-week Business Basics Course, received one-on-one coaching and business plan development and has sold countless products at the ZONE Marketplace. Her ultimate business goal is to own her own boutique featuring her product line.
